Dear visitor,

Thank you for your visit.

Here you will find old tools, ‘new old stock’ items and newly made supplies - for the making and sewing of shoes by hand.

Most items are individual - they come as and when found. With the passing of time, they have accumulated signs of age, small defects, good qualities and the marks left by previous owners. They have been made in the last century, sometime between the 1880 and 1980s. It has been endeavoured to choose the best ones, suited for use and the accomplishment of quality work.

I attempt to share the origin, name and use of the tool as accurately possible. I hope this can contribute to knowledge of the ‘gentle craft’ and help you maintain the very old and complex skills of this work.

Thanks for your interest and best wishes in your shoemaking.
