Wild Boar's Bristles

Wild Boar's Bristles
£0.00
Traditional Wild Boar’s Bristles for making wax threads, also called ‘Soie de Sanglier’ in French.
Now less commonly used, boar’s bristles are the oldest documented technique for hand-sewing shoes.
Thin, strong and flexible, they allow to sew through curved sections.
Especially useful for hand-sewing uppers.
Sourced directly from South West France, a small quantity is available during the winter hunting season.
Suitable bristles are derived from the mane of larger males only and require being sorted by hand.
As a natural product, each bristle differs in length.
Average length: 10cm
