Shoemaker's stitch marker, sometimes called 'prick stitch' by Penton & Sons London.

Penton & Sons were located at 1-11 Mortimer Street and also 50-54 Newman Street, London.

Active 1890-1930s

Used to individually mark stitch points on the welt before a final fudging with wheel.

This favours a neat clean work and every stitch to be individually separated, to get an even row.

It is important to note it should be kept blunt and 'soft' as to avoid damaged the welt.
