Traditional French clicker’s knife with handle made of solid brass.
This is a famous patented design which has been bought over and produced by a number of French workshops over time, beginning in the late XIXth. Always stamped ‘L’indispensable’, it is possible to find examples made by workshops Bidal, Onfroy and Vergez-Blanchard depending on the period.
Easily maintained with a bit of steel wool, they develop a nice patina with time.
