The Blanchard workshop has made a name for the beauty of its tools over two centuries of activity and this item is a hallmark of their range.
Mechanical knife used for cutting strips of leather, fitted with 10 cm wide stem ruler.
There are three parameter settings: the first to set the width of the strip of leather by allowing movement across the measure dial.
The second is a special sprung cross bar roller which moves up or down to secure the leather according to thickness, actioned by a ‘trigger’ .
A third parameter, second trigger allows for the cross bar roller to be fixed to a particular height.
The removable blade has been sharpened and honed to a very fine edge - ready for use.
